North Texas Clean Air Coalition, imc² Bring Award-Winning Solutions To Business Community
DALLAS, May 27, 2009 - The North Texas Clean Air Coalition has partnered with digital agency imc² to raise awareness of local air quality issues and encourage sustainable solutions within the private sector. With the help of IntelliBooth, interactive presentation technology created by imc², the Clean Air Coalition is focusing specific attention on alternative commuting and other emission-reduction programs. At events utilizing IntelliBooth, the Clean Air Coalition has engaged nearly 250 businesses representing over 210,000 employees in the region - four times the number of businesses reached during the same period in 2008. In addition, IntelliBooth recently won Gold in the 2009 Horizon Interactive Awards, an international competition recognizing achievement among interactive media producers.
The North Texas Clean Air Coalition uses IntelliBooth to share information about local air quality, commuting solutions, and individual stories of action, most recently at the Dallas Regional Chamber's Sustainable Infrastructure Summit, the Environmental Protection Agency-sponsored Sustainable Communities Conference, and Dallas EarthFest 2009. IntelliBooth, an event platform that features large touch-screen plasmas, allows for self-paced interaction and increases visitor engagement while decreasing the environmental footprint associated with large-scale event outreach.
This partnership is particularly powerful because of heightened interest in solutions that are both profitable and positive for the environment. However, commuting is an area that businesses often struggle to address, despite the significant impact it has on overall productivity, employee health, and the environment. By effectively communicating the consequences of poor air quality, the range and benefits of alternative solutions, and examples of successful programs, IntelliBooth has helped the Clean Air Coalition minimize the learning curve facing the business community. Since the Coalition issued its Commuter Challenge on April 17, employees representing 350 area businesses have saved more than 110,000 vehicle miles and prevented nearly 50 tons of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere.
For imc², the pro bono engagement reflects the agency's continued integration of sustainability into its own operations and its desire to share opportunities with the larger marketing industry, regional business community, and clients.
