imc² Named Employer of the Year at Working
for Clean Air™ Awards

DALLAS – November 11, 2009 – At the 6th Annual Working for Clean Air™ Awards luncheon on October 22, the North Texas Clean Air Coalition recognized imc² as the TryParkingIt.com “Employer of the Year” and as “Overall Employer of the Year” for businesses with fewer than 500 employees. These awards honor imc²’s efforts to support employees in choosing alternatives to the single-occupancy vehicle commute, as well as its overall efforts to make its business operations more sustainable internally and by engaging others.
 
Of the 56 employers that entered, imc² distinguished itself as a leader through its innovative commuter program, efforts to measure, report and reduce its carbon footprint and willingness to work with fellow tenants, building managers, suppliers and the local business community. One of imc²’s programs, the Commuter Challenge, which served as the model for the Coalition’s regional campaign, prevented 50,000 road miles and 40,000 pounds of carbon dioxide, while saving employees more than $20,000 in out-of-pocket costs since launching on Earth Day.
 
In 2007, imc² became the first in its industry to release a GRI-compliant sustainability report and now issues public quarterly progress updates. Through the third quarter of this year, imc² has reduced its overall carbon footprint by 18 percent.
